Turkana

A portrait of stillness in the vast Kenyan north.

Over a decade of journeys to Kenya supporting British charity M.E.A.K. (Medical and Educational Aid to Kenya), Tom Munro turned his lens on the nomadic Turkana people – intimate, unhurried, and deeply human.

A portrait of stillness in the vast Kenyan north.

Over multiple journeys to Kenya spanning more than a decade, Tom Munro turned his lens on the Turkana people of the remote northwest – a community shaped by the land and light of one of Africa’s most striking landscapes. What emerged was something far removed from the fashion studios and magazine covers – raw, reverent, and profoundly human.

Stripped of artifice and free from agenda, these images are a quiet tribute to the dignity, beauty, and resilience of a people and place that left an indelible mark on the photographer. No brief, no commission – just a camera and a deep sense of purpose.

Selected works from this collection are available as signed, limited-edition prints, ranging from £2,500 to £3,500.
