72TOKYO

The concept is simple: 72 hours in Tokyo, little sleep and lots of activity.

In this project Tom Munro presents a series of photographs that are the result of serendipity and his schooled eye.

72 hours. Two cities. One restless eye.

In October 2014 Tom Munro landed in Tokyo to direct a tv commercial & print campaign for a Japanese client. With his next job in Los Angeles and three days to spare in-between, Tom set about documenting Japan’s diverse cultures, new & old. What followed was a whirlwind journey through Tokyo and Kyoto – a sensory overload of neon-lit streets, quiet moments, and chance encounters.

Working with dancer Anna as his collaborator, Munro captured a deeply personal vision of Japanese metropolitan life. No itinerary, no shot list – just instinct, trust, and a schooled eye drawn to the chaos and beauty of it all.

Selected works from this collection are available as signed, limited-edition prints, ranging from £3,500 to £5,000.
